Aviation safety: The sky-high consequences of sticking to the status quo

The FAA estimates that 2% of the 26 million parts installed each year on aircraft are counterfeit. That is 520,000 parts. Surprising? Unfortunately not.
The aviation industry requires a one in a billion probability – at the highest – rate of failure per hour of operation, according to the FAA. We simply cannot accept that this same industry is continuing to allow counterfeit parts to infiltrate the supply chain, at a rate of 2% each year. The difference between real and fraudulent parts can be the difference between life and death; and the time for the industry to truly commit to change and take concrete action is now.
Our CEO Roei Ganzarski calls on the industry to take firm steps to identify and prevent counterfeit aircraft parts in his piece for Aviation Business News.
